from my experience, they expect your first drop to be dirty, just as long as the levels go down in every drop after that. ive been on probation 3 times for weed. bad luck and stupidity. so smoke up untill the day before you start testing, enjoy it while you can.

They expect you to fail your first test - and it shows initiative that you pass all the others (IE, have gotten "clean")

Yes, you'll get randomly tested (they'll probably call you or put you on a waiting list or something, so you'll have enough time to buy some fake pee), but far less often than if you'd failed your first test. When we went out to start up the grill the dog started running around like crazy and did that for the nest 40 minutes or so. No idea what it was doing. We laughed quite hard at first but then got worried.
