Really looking forward to playing, but I don't want to jump right in and have my experience ruined by the (I'm assuming) buggy initial build of the game. The plan is to wait a few months for patches and some additional content to be released, then I'll strap on the old elf ears and wade in. It's always a bummer to get immersed in a cool-sounding game, only to have it stutter and crash and act wonky in general.

Fellow non-pirate PCfags: how stable has it been for you thus far? No offense to those who hoist the flag; I just can't use any reports you might have about problems with a cracked game.

otherwise, we (The pirates) recieve the same version you do, with only a fixed EXE/ crack/whatever.

So here's what i've noticed:
It's well made, not a single bug (outside of a few crashes that are probably related to the crack) .

a patch has already been released, DA:O is now on V1.01.
Patch notes

1. Fixed potential corruption of character statistics
2. Fixed portrait appearance sliders when importing a character from the downloadable Character Creator
3. Fixed import for preset face settings from the downloadable Character Creator
4. Made Easy difficulty easier
5. Slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty
6. Fixed video issues when running on a very wide screen display, including ATI Eyefinity displays

Sounds like they're still fine tuning the gameplay and there may be some more technical things that need to be ironed out. You're probably right about the crashes you're experiencing coming from the crack, but unless someone with a legit copy corrects my thinking, I'm just going to assume its happening to everyone.

lol, I've been waiting for a really good Bioware RPG for a while and I don't want to be disappointed, so I'm being overly cautious. Don't wanna get burned by what should have been a fun experience, because I couldn't wait for the inevitable bug fixes... I'm looking at you Neverwinter Nights 2.

Just to let you know,

i'ts fcomepletlye worth playintg through it with the bugs. if there are any, i didn't notice any.

Then again, four shots later i couldn't tell a bug from a spider.
