I can only lucid dream after drinking a bunch. What is going on here?
You have cancer.
Vitamin B-6 can enhance your dreams and increase dream vividness.http://www.erowid.org/spirit/dreaming/dreaming_info1.shtml"50 mg of B6 is a normal dose, and is known to enhance dreaming, including dreams in noticeable color. I often tell persons who have difficulty remembering dreams to take 50 mg of B-6 for a few nights. One gram is a massive dose. Lord knows what it will do."I will eat a gram tonight (50mg a pill = 20 pills) along with a big glass of warm milk and see what happens. I will post experience tomorrow. Has anyone tried B-6 before bed?

>>7740I don't know all the details to what effects you get if you take it any other way...someone once mentioned taking it in the middle of the night, after waking once, and I thought that was an interesting prospect...I have no idea how long it takes to go through the body and do what it does that enhances the dreaming experience. I do know, though, that I usually only experience a lucid dream in the later half of the night when I take all the B-6 at once before going to bed. I don't know if that's the B-6 taking its time to "do its thing" or if I'm really catching the tail end of it and WBTB simply drives it to the point of lucidity...tons of possibility there.

Last night I had one of the longest and darkest dreams I've had in a while. It's blurry now, but I can still remember it.It's daytime outside, but clouded and stormy. I'm on a sidestreet that skirts alongside my neighborhood, and at every street corner there's the dead body of a young girl. They're each horribly mutilated and instead of each street leading to rows of houses, they just lead to big mansions. I continue along the street and see my friends, but they're different somehow when I speak to them. My boyfriend pops in and out, but I can't see his face, like he's a ghost. I take a closer look at one of the girls and I get a flash of random scenes. She was trying to escape something and chose to die to get away from something. I walk towards the mansion behind her and see a skinny, jakal-looking dog. The dog smiles at me as if it knows something and runs off. As I enter the mansion my roomates are at the top of a great marble staircase. Everything is white and gold with tall ceilings, except there is no furniture. One of them then looks at me blankly and asks "What the hell are you doing here?" Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Why does it always have to mean something? That's a pretty cool dream, I can see the dead girl part as something out of a horror movie... I mean, that shit really is dark. Girl killed herself to get away from something, and now she's this mutilated heap of flesh. Deliciously horrific. Anyway, I don't like to assign meaning to dreams. They're entirely subjective, and the same dream could mean completely different things to different people. Generally it's easier to find the source of your dream than the meaning. Think about the location and how you could have thought that up, where the dead girls might be from, etc. See if you can account for everything, and then you tell me what it was all about. Perhaps you feel that you don't fit in with your roommates as well as you'd like, seeing as they were all together and you weren't invited. Perhaps you're afraid of something sinister going on behind your back.
Sounds pretty freaky man, bad vibes.
I had a dream about a friend and me doing quite a bit of coke. I've never tried cocaine before. I'm thinking that I should try it because of this dream. In the dream I felt the effects people talk about. I felt the numbness you feel in your face and I felt like super man. It was the most intense dream I've ever had. The feelings I experienced in the dream were amazing. Should I follow my dream and experiment with coke?

i tried speed, liked it, i bought some off a close mate who said i should be happy with this batch. i felt excellent, i felt like a king, nothing brang me down i felt invincible, i would do anything anyone dared, it was extravagant, i loved it.
I frequently smoke cigarettes in my dreams, even though I am not a smoker and have no intention of becoming one. I remember one time I smoked a fantastic tasting cigarette, it was incredible. I would attempt an explanation but it is impossible.
>>7775I also often take drugs in my dreams, including ones I have never taken or only taken a few times (LSD, coke)
Just wondering if anyone has heard about DMT being involved in the dream process naturally in the brain? What would this mean when it comes to using the drug. How are dreams and trips interlinked? I think some research and debate needs to be done folks.
everyone knows that dummy
I think what >>7715 means is that many people have heard of this THEORY. I agree that it makes a ton of sense and that it should be looked more into, but unfortunately there's no real facts about it at this time :(>What would this mean when it comes to using the drugI don't know, not having done DMT, though I expect an experience sometime soon. It seems I've heard a lot lately that people have extremely vivid dreams permanently after smoking DMT. This intrigues me, especially considering that I have vivid, often lucid dreams as it is. Okay guys think about this.. Have any of you ever been in the middle of a dream, and started smoking, and then you felt high the whole dream? What if you found some DMT in your dream, smoked it, and somehow tricked your mind into thinking you just smoked DMT.Would this work?

>>7751According to Terrence McKenna, yes, that does work, and it's indistinguishable from an actual DMT trip. But he's kind of a kook and I don't know if anyone besides him has found that.
I half-lucid dream a lot. Like I'm aware I'm dreaming, but I can't control it.I have a lot of nightmares and then I realize I'm dreaming and I try and wake up....but I'll wake up into another dream. Most of the time it's a weird half-and-half state where i'm dreaming i'm in bed. Does this weird kind of thing happen to anyone else?

it's weird because it mimics sleep paralysis, but it's definitely not reality. the other day I woke from a dream into a dream where I was lying in bed exactly like i was in real life, and I couldn't move--sounds like sleep paralysis, but then weird things will happen. In this particular dream, I was unable to move but fell off the bed (i was not in control of my body, I just kind of gently rolled onto the floor--it sounds lame i know). When I landed on the floor, I woke up and was in bed.

Vivid hallucinations occur during sleep paralysis. I've gone as far as to roll myself out of bed, crawl to my neighbor and plead for help, just to snap back to the reality that I haven't moved from my bed.

it might be that you are having a dream where in the dream you realize its a dream. the realization is not real, just part of the dream.
So you guys. I had a dream where I killed myself. I dont remember why, but it was like I was having an out of body experience, and I just sat on my bed and watched from the corner as I shot myself, and ended my life. Not only that, but it kept going, and I had to sit there and watch my body for what seemed like hours, and watch as my girlfriend discovered my body, had a mental breakdown, and called the police. After that, it suddeny came to an abrupt end. What could this mean?
It may not mean a thing. Is the truth to our world that we're all plugged in to machines who are using the energy we output as a power source all because this was portrayed in one movie? You could argue that it's a possibility, but there's no definite explanation. Same goes for your dream. It COULD be a premonition, but it could also be a completely random sequence of thoughts and images with no meaning whatsoever. However, it could mean that you fear the impact that your death would have on others, but this is quite a guess. Have you had suicidal thoughts before?

>>7757Once when I was younger, yes. Im more concerned about why my dreams about me go on after I die. These dreams happen almost every night, and they are very vivid. And its either me or my girlfriend getting hurt/killed and always in third person. Even after I die, or the subject of my dream dies. I keep going on in third person to witness the after effects of my or thier deaths.

Thinking on it, it could also be that you fear hurting her by leaving her, intentionally or not. Have the dreams only occurred since you've been with her, and have you had any thoughts about breaking up with her, or even fears of her breaking up with you?

Does anyone else sometimes have a dream where you are walking down the street, then all of a sudden start to run on all fours like an animal? In my dreams it feels totally natural, like I can move faster and get to where I need to go quicker if I run like that. I only realise somethings wrong when I notice people looking at me and laughing. But I usually say fuck it and keep galloping down the road.Feels good man.

Actually, yes o_O I can get some serious speed going like that. And it feels really cool, too. There's a certain accuracy and control to it that running on two legs lacks.

I'm surprised at the number of people taken so aback by this. With all the times I've dreamed it, I figured it must be a semi-common thing. Maybe playing a donkey in a Christmas play a lonnng time ago has something to do with it...I also have a habit up climbing up stairs (usually indoors) on all fours...its easier, lol.
>>7711actually, i do that too, but i always feel really embarrassed about it. it probably has something to do with my origional fear of getting braces and looking like a freak from long ago.>>7718>I also have a habit up climbing up stairs (usually indoors) on all fours...its easier, lol. I don't typically put on music when I sleep because I'm very sensitive to music and kind of keeps my brain running a bit too much to get to sleep; I can't even have a fan or something make any kind of steady rhythm, it keeps that part of my brain going.Though, I rode the Greyhound recently and dozed off to Boards of Canada's Music Has the Right to Children several times. I found it to be very suitable and may well put some on and try sleeping to it sometime. It seems to hit some very interesting parts of my brain without keeping it in overdrive. Old Delerium like Syrophenikan is pretty cool and in this realm, too, though darker and with very different vibes. As for music you've requested, you may appreciate this. It's not so mindblowingly good that I could sit there and indulge in the music alone, but it makes for a neat backdrop.

While on a mushrooms trip I tried to have a nap, and I had a dream from the perspective of a body in open space, and I was slowly broken up into pieces, and each time i was in the perspective of one of the particles. At first it was a few pieces, and with every oscillation the pieces would be broken up again. This process would continue, with the pieces getting smaller and smaller and i realized that they would continue to get smaller indefinitely. also, with each oscillation, the time between a change in perspectives would increase, and i realized that i would eventually be stuck in the same place for a massive amount of time, and that the process would never end. When I woke up, i was in the hospital because I had been groaning loudly, saying random words (possibly schizophasia), and acting aggressively when others approached me (including my family and 6 police officers). Sorry, there's nothing in my dream dictionary about "oscillating quantum particles"...Seriously though, why does it have to have a meaning? If there's anything shrooms should show you, its that things simply are what they are, and any obtained meaning is unnecessary and subjective. If it means something to you, great, but no person or dictionary is going to be able to reveal the secrets to yourself all over some whacked out dream you had.

>>7754leave it up to family and cops to ruin the fun.it could possibly just be a layout of your life so far and since the pieces were getting smaller, it could mean your nearing your end. that's my theory. try to take precautions next time when taking any type of drugs. don't leave yourself vulnerable.

Okay, so every morning i wake up to my first alarm at 6:15. Throughout the night, I usually don't have any dreams, or atleast ones I can remember. But when i press the snooze button on my alarm, I fall back asleep and have a nice dream each time. I get waken up every 5 minutes, but almost every time i have a dream (about 3 or 4 each morning). This morning after the second or third alarm, i fell back into my previous dream but realized my shoes we're missing. I thought hard about it for a minute wondering where they could have gone, but came to my senses and realized it would just be illogical for them to be missing. I then had the idea "I must be dreaming" and got excited that i had finally achieved lucidity (I've only been in one other lucid dream and it was amazing). My first thought was to start flying. I was sitting there but couldn't think of the proper way to start my flight, and just started floating. I couldn't control it at all and just started floating up until i hit the ceiling. It then went blank for a second and i was now outside. I saw this girl i knew but haven't really talked to that much, and went straight up to her. We started talking for a moment then started walking away to have sex (lol i know, it always happens). My alarm then went off and i woke up. Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
