that stuff if all fuking sick man i really like the clean style. sorta got a bit of graffiti influence in some ways too. very nice

nice one people - been drawing my whole life pretty much but my 'style' emerged when i was about 16 with this piece.(did it on my college table over the space of a few months-they called it vandalism :D)
been developin style over the last 4 years tryna get more intricate - hopefully gonna animate some stuff soon for a real head-fuck.

as for what pens/ink i use, just standard staedtler fineliners. using a thin nib gives you more control over your line thickness--so if i want it thicker i just add more--meaning even the massive black spaces also have to be coloured in with such a small nib. time consuming but its the mehtod im used to . and yes-there is a graffiti influence--started taggin when i was 11 for a few years (wasnt all that) , got too much beef, developed this style. my shit seems about ripe now to go back and cause some damage!

Drawing pencils are graphite too, bud. A "regular" pencil that you're talking about is usually HB. HB, 8H, 2B etc. is the hardness and darkness of the pencil. "B" pencils are softer and darker, "H" pencils are harder and lighter. The scale goes ...3H 2H H F HB B 2B 3B...

Softer pencils (B) are better for sketching. Harder ones are better for like technical drawings, as you have more control and it's easier to show construction lines separate from outlines.

8B is one step from the softest (darkest) pencil you can buy, which would be a 9B, so yeah it is significantly darker. The difference in pencils range from 9h to 9b, H denoted a hard lead which is great for very faint sketches, B is better for large areas of darker values because the lead is softer and therefore transfers to the paper easier.
