I just noticed that 420chan has a comic board. And now we're going to have an upload thread.
Would anyone happen to have The Question: Zen and Violence? I've looked all over and can't seem to find it.
>>5775Does anyone have any of The Question? I've been wanting to read some of the stuff, none of that newer shit though.
Hi hi.Could anyone be kind enough to upload Marvel Civil War 054-106.rar to rapidshare? I'm in China right now and their internet is blocking Megaupload, amongst everything else that reminds me of the west. This series is pretty damn good but it has me hanging. Will be indebted to you.

Hi /616/I've noticed a severe lack of Bill Willingham's Fables series, so here are the first 75 issues, organized by storyline.Enjoy, and if you have the following, don't be a stranger :)1001 Nights of Snowfall [Graphic novel]http://www.fileshare.ro/1817761601.05 Comment too long. >>5826The writer admitted it at some point, saying he was "just rabidly pro-Israel"... I don't know if it's an exact parallel of the real world but the way I see it, they were exiled from the Homelands (Israel) by the Adversary (Palestine and other Arab nations) so they've been living in diaspora communities like the one in New York (which incidentally is the largest Jewish community on Earth). But they get harassed by their old enemies everywhere they go, so they want to resettle in the Homelands, except the Adversary doesn't want to let them, etc. It's not so much the basis in reality that bugs me, more the fact that the good guys are all brilliant and virtuous and their enemies are pure evil, not to mention pretty incompetent and stupid at times. Like, if it IS an allegory, then they kind of shit on the Arab states, despite the fact that they often have pretty defensible motives in the real world.

>>5830Except that when they finally declare war on the adversary, Fabletown allies with a bunch of Arabians. The only Israel parallel I saw was when Bigby compared Fabletown to Israel at one point. Even then, it seemed to be used more as a parallel for Israel as a homeland for wayward jews after WWII, than anything else.
>>5830>they were exiled from the Homelands (Israel) by the Adversary (Palestine and other Arab nations)Except the way I see it, it's kinda the other way around -- Palestine was an Arabian land, and then Jews, led by Moses, thought "Here's a nice piece of land, let's all move in and the hell with the original inhabitants." This has also happened in recent times -- pic related.

Worth watching?
Awesome show, embodies the majority of the internets childhood.
I support every post in this thread.
90s Marvel and DC cartoons were the shit. I can't think of one that wasn't fuckwin.
When I was younger, I didn't watch the show because it was "too real" for me. I have no idea what I was thinking back then, and if I could see myself back then I would kick my own ass.
THIS ONES FOR YOU MORPHH!!!!! AAARRRRGGGGLLLLAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHAAAAHHHRRRHHHHHGGGHHHHHAAHHHHHHHHRRRRRGGHHHHhhhhhhhhh..........
What are the differences between American and Japanese comic industries? Why is it that manga is respected and read by every age group in japanese society, while in America, comics books are read by a minority, and with considerable social stigma attached?
>Why is it that manga is respected and read by every age group in japanese societyI don't think it is. I think people who read a lot of comics in japan are still considered social outcasts lol

>>5808The good old days when comic books had ads for D&D and fantasy based NES games instead of Disney Channel and Foot Locker.
>>5807No.Just no. For fuck's sake.Yes there are otaku in Japan who are social outcasts, and yes a lot of them are highly into the whole manga-anime-video game scene, but manga itself doesn't have a whole lot of stigma (except manga with subject matter that are obviously going to raise a few eyebrows like Kodomo no Jikan). Period. End of story. We can't proceed anywhere unless this is accepted as a factual premise, because that's what it is.

my theorywestern comics started out as entertainment for young boys. This obviously changed but the association remains.Manga was for kids and adults, as there have always been manga with adult themes (violence and complex/long storylines)the format also makes a difference (magazine vs book)

Why do the Marvel Essentials collections always skip out on earlier comics and are always presented in black and white when the comics they have in them were originally in color? Does essential just translate as "bare-bones"?Is there anywhere to purchase full collections in color?

marvel masterworks
If you have the money, Omnibuses. The idea of Essentials is that they print old stories cheaply
They usually only have the ones that are essential and if they were in color they'd be way more expensive.
easily one of the funniest/interesting comics i have ever readwhat is some weird comics you guys have seen?btw i dig dry humor, so that woudl be ncie
I love this dude's comics but I don't know his name

Does anyone have Herogasm 6 / The Boys 35 yet? I think they were both released today, but they're not on any torrent sites yet. Or mycomicpost.com. Any help?
Anybody got Herogasm 6 / The Boys 36 yet? Both are out today, apparently.
Oops. Accidental sage and double post. How embarrassing.
ehhh, I think it has it's moments, it's interesting to see how fucked up they can make the stuff that happens in that universe, like the st patricks day issue.
>>5817Yeah, it's definitely a bit hit-and-miss. I expected a lot more from the last issue of that Payback arc. Stormfront somehow didn't end up being nearly as scary as I had expected him to be. Shame.Still no joy finding scans of the last Herogasm and The Boys 36...

Hello /comic/.I've been a Carnage fan ever since I got his action figure a decade ago.Unfortunately the only comics I read in my childhood and teenager years were Kid Paddle and the Simpsons. I have never read a Spider-man comic. I only know Carnage as a toy and from a few Spider-man episodes.Anyway. Could someone please recommend me the best Carnage comics? I'm not really interested in the old-ass, first encounters in Spider-man from the '70s. A download link would be nice if possible and if it's not too much trouble.

>>5688I was just over-simplifying and generalizing like that fella did with Carnage. You can sum up pretty much every character with a few terms, but that doesn't mean it's correct. In fact, everything can be put into a little box. But who gives a shit.Carnage is boss.

Okay here's the new upload thread. The rules are simple. 1.) No posting unless you are uploading or requesting 2.) Don't just post only one issue or links to online galleries. Nobody likes that shit and it just makes the thread longer. 3.) Upload everything to either Rapidshare, Megaupload, or Mediafire. That way you can post a fuckton of issues in one link, you won't needlessly stretch the thread, and the downloading and uploading will go far faster.Watchmen1-6 http://www.mediafire.com/?73vlxbz8a1i7-11 http://www.mediafire.com/?szccb33ktyx Comment too long. Comics from b4 WWII are worth more because they are rare. Paper was being recycled and many comics were the victim of it. Comics after WWII are too common and are therefor not as sought after.
>>5379 Post WWII comics still have quite a lot that has some demand (even then the idea of keeping every comic wasn't done that often). EC stuff, early Marvels, Silver Age DC debuts, and so on.It's when you get into the 1980's stuff that there's lots and lots of fucking copies of things since comic shops started springing up around that time, and would store back issues.
